Senate President promises to protect National Assembly -Presidency

The Senate President, David Mark (Senator) has promised to defend the sanctity of the National Assembly. While speaking at a plenary which held lately in Abuja, David Mark stated that although it is the practice of the National Assembly not to interfere in the affairs of different legislative chambers, he cannot fold his hands and watch the unfolding events in the House of Representatives. He explained that as Chairman of the National Assembly, he will make efforts to resolve the crisis bedevilling the lower chamber - the House of Representatives. According to him, he will not present the crisis for discussion as the matter is already in court. He adjourned the Senate till Tuesday November 11, 2014.
