Nigerian student killed, 2 sustain injury in Ghana knife-attack ...suspect nabbed
Armed robbers in Ghana have killed a Nigerian student and injured two
others in a knife attack that occured on Sunday morning. A suspect has
been arrested but police is unsure of his complicity.
A 27-year-old Nigerian student studying in Ghana, Nazifi Osman Muhammed, has been stabbed to death by armed robbers at his Accra New Town residence.
Muhammed was reportedly stabbed in the stomach and chest.
Ghanaian news website, reports has it that two other students, Jamiru Osman, 23, and Mustapha Musa, 22 were injured in the Sunday morning attack.
Osman and Musa are reportedly on admission at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital.
All
three victims are said to be students of Sikkim Manipul University,
Circle, Accra, studying Information Communication Technology (ICT).

Guide reports that the robbers might have targeted the students after
learning that they received $4000 dollars from their relative in
Nigeria.
Meanwhile, a suspect believed to be one
of the attackers was arrested by residents of the area, but the police
is yet unsure of his complicity.
Confirming the suspect's arrest, the Kotobabi District Police Commander, DSP Elizabeth Tiekuwaa Dankwa, told Newsmen that the suspect would be interrogated.
“Suspect
was apprehended hours after the robbery attack by residents when he was
passing in front of the house, on suspicion that he might be one of the
suspects, but it is the duty of the police to confirm that through
investigations," Dankwa said.
“We are keeping him in our custody to assist us in our investigations."
One
of the victims, who was only stabbed in the hands told police that the
robbers attacked them with a kitchen knife around 3:30 am.
“Complainant
said they were all rushed to the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital for
treatment by neighbours but Nazifi was pronounced dead by doctors on
arrival at the health facility while Jamiru, who was unconscious, was
admitted,” the police chief reportedly said.
Muhammed's body has been deposited at the Korle-Bu Teaching hospital.
It will be recalled that Mr. Godwin Ayogu, a 19-year-old Nigerian studying at the University of Cape Coast, was murdered at the University of Cape Coast in Ghana.
